Why is Embassy the green leader?

Embassy Landscape Group, Inc.

Embassy is the company to turn to for green solutions as our community strives to become America's Green Region. Our team is committed to creating landscapes that not only work for our clients, but also work for the environment.

Regional initiatives such as 10,000 Rain Gardens, Conversations on the Environment, the Mid-America Regional Council’s (MARC) Sustainability Academy and the Kansas City Power and Light (KCPL) agreement with the Sierra Club regarding renewable energy and sustainable practices have brought national attention and acclaim to the area. The appeal of going green and the urgent need to help solve these regional issues led Kansas City to decide:

To become the “greenest” city in America and the leading national model for sensible, sustainable growth.

In our region's quest to become a national model, Kansas City leaders have traveled to Seattle and Portland to learn from others about solving common urban issues such as polluted stormwater runoff and antiquated sewers. These cities have incorporated green solutions to treat water as a resource, capturing and using stormwater to recharge the water table. They have seen green infrastructure such as rain gardens, bio-retention facilities and stream buffers, which reduce storm water runoff and water pollution, create recreational amenities and protect natural resources. These green solutions are integrated into the city landscape and include renewable energy, solid waste recycling, mass transit, bike/pedestrian infrastructure and other measures that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve environmental quality.

Embassy fully supports Kansas City in this historic and important endeavor and advocates the use of green solutions in our projects wherever possible. Additionally, we have pledged to become the leader in the region’s green collar initiative. Through this measure, we will hire and help train young area adults in environmentally sound landscape techniques. They will work with our team to install and maintain many of the green solution projects we execute.
